Crumbs From the Table

TO THEM OF LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH

Luke 24:25-27 "Then He (Jesus) said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself."

Our passage this morning deals with several disciples who had not
reach full maturity and thus had not grasp the fullness of who Jesus
is. Does this sound familiar? Maybe like many of us when we are
still babes in Christ? We can see so vividly the picture and
presence of Christ in the passages of the New Testament when He is in His humanist form, but have problems seeing Him on the spiritual side and in the various pictures and types of the Old Testament. For I want you to know just like PREGO...It's in there or in this case HE'S IN THERE! Many people during the time Jesus walked this earth physically saw Jesus, as the carpenter's son or as good teacher or prophet or even as a miracle worker. But only a few saw Him on the spiritual side, as the Son of God, as the only Begotten Son of God, the Messiah who came to suffer affliction even death on the cross for His people. Even the disciples who walked so closely with Jesus had to be questioned on this matter. WHY? Because if they could not see Him as Immanuel...God with us, how could they show others.

This passage from Luke as Jesus spoke to the Emmaus disciples is
reminiscent of many of us when our spiritual eyes have been blinded. No matter how hard we look we shall not see Jesus. WHY? Well, when we have become entangle with world, the situations of this world and get to depending to much on self, we shall have a problem seeing Jesus! Many times when we are going to trials and tribulations in our life, we cannot see Jesus or the presence of God in our lives. Does this mean that He is not there with us? No! But just like Peter as he walked on the water, when we take our eyes off Jesus and now depend on self and we are not able to stand. Now remember that this the same Peter who had declared that "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God", but yet when we lost focus...He began to sink!

Like the great detectives, we can search far and wide looking for
Jesus in the Word of God, only to discover He was right there before
our eyes! For you see this search must not be with the naked eye, but with spiritual eyes. Yet, I must declare that you shall never see Him if you never look.

LOOK FOR JESUS
--------------

I find my Lord in the Bible
Wherever I chance to look,
He is the theme of the Bible
The center and heart of the Book;
He is the Rose of Sharon,
He is the Lily fair,
Wherever I open my Bible
The Lord of the Book is there.

He's at the Book's beginning,
Gave to the earth its form,
He is the Ark of shelter
Bearing the brunt of the storm,
The Burning Bush of the desert,
The budding of Aaron's Rod,
Wherever I look in the Bible
I see the Son of God.

The Ram upon Mt. Moriah,
The Ladder from earth to sky,
The Scarlet Cord in the window,
And the Serpent lifted high,
The Smitten Rock in the desert,
The Shepherd with staff and crook,
The face of my Lord I discover
Wherever I open the Book.

He is the Seed of the Woman,
The Saviour Virgin-born;
He is the Son of David,
Whom men rejected with scorn,
His garments of grace and beauty
The stately Aaron deck,
Yet He is a Priest forever,
For He is Melchizedek.

Lord of eternal glory
Whom John, the Apostle, saw;
Light of the Golden City,
Lamb without spot or flaw,
Bridegroom coming at midnight,
For whom the Virgins look.
Wherever I open my Bible,
I find my Lord in the Book.

Whenever we study God's Word, we must look for Jesus for He's in there from cover to cover and He is the only one who is able to bring peace to our troubled souls.

May God bless you in the search for the mysteries and treasures of His Word and may you strike it gold in the person of Jesus!

Have a Blessed Day Be PRAYERFUL and THANKFUL for all things!!!
